CARLA VERNÓN
Chief Executive Officer
Carla Vernón joined Honest as Chief Executive Officer in January 2023. As one of the first Afro-Latine CEOs of a U.S. publicly traded company, Vernón brings a new era of leadership that reflects the diversity of Honest’s consumers. In her role, Vernón will be laser focused on driving category growth, business innovation, and profitability to deliver the company’s core mission of inspiring everyone to love living consciously.
Prior to joining Honest, Vernón served as the Vice President of Consumables Categories at Amazon.com, Inc. where she had P&L responsibility for Household Essentials, Wellness, Beauty, Baby, Food and Beverage categories on Amazon.com as well as responsibility for technology development for those categories. Prior to joining Amazon, Vernón spent more than two decades in various P&L leadership roles at General Mills, Inc., most recently serving as the Operating Unit President of the Natural & Organic Division from July 2017 to April 2020. Vernón holds a B.A. degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton and a Master of Business Administration from Texas McCombs School of Business. Vernón serves on the Board of Trustees for Princeton University.

Dave Loretta
Chief Financial Officer
Dave Loretta has served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Honest Company since September 2023. With more than 25 years of experience, Loretta has a strong track record of driving financial strength and scale across a wide range of retail companies that deliver consumer-centric digital experiences through innovative business models. In this role, Loretta reports directly to CEO Carla Vernón and oversees Honest’s Finance, Accounting, Technology and Investor Relations organizations.
Prior to joining Honest, Loretta most recently served as SVP, Chief Financial Officer of Duluth Trading (DLTH). He joined the company in 2017, two years after its Initial Public Offering, and helped grow the business from $400 million in revenue to $700 million. Additionally, Loretta spent more than 17 years in a series of roles at Nordstrom and Restoration Hardware, where he developed deep retail and consumer product knowledge. Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University.

Kate Barton
Chief Growth Officer
Kate Barton has served as our Chief Growth Officer since May 2023. In this role, Kate is focused on driving growth ideas that inspire the loyalty and imagination of Honest’s passionate consumers. She oversees Honest’s baby, beauty, wellness, personal care and household care categories while also guiding the company’s Honest.com, creative design and communications teams. Prior to joining Honest, Kate was Chief Brand Officer of Magnolia, the lifestyle company founded by Joanna and Chip Gaines. In this role, she led high-performing teams across marketing, creative and design and was foundational to optimizing the company’s brand strategy, omnichannel content, direct-to-consumer communications and partnering with Warner Brothers Discovery for the successful launch of Magnolia Network, a collection of original programming. Kate also has deep experience in beauty and skincare from her time at Estée Lauder’s Aveda brand, where she was responsible for driving year-over-year share growth across North American B2B and B2C channels. Prior to her leadership of Aveda, Kate was at Johnson & Johnson, where she managed global campaigns for Clean & Clear and led Neutrogena’s global anti-aging innovation pipeline. She also worked on many leading food brands at General Mills. Kate holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Baylor University, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Brendan Sheehey
General Counsel
Brendan Sheehey has served as our General Counsel since June 2020, where he is responsible for leading our legal team, setting legal strategy and overseeing key deals and relationships across product, regulatory, commercial, international expansions, privacy, IP, policy and compliance. Prior to joining Honest, Sheehey served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Targus International LLC, where he led the company’s legal department and oversaw its corporate governance. Prior to joining Targus, Sheehey also held in-house counsel roles at Arbonne International LLC and Corinthian Colleges, and counseled clients while at Sidley Austin LLP. He holds a B.A. in Geography from U.C. Santa Barbara, an M.A. in Geography from the University of South Carolina and a J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law.Brendan Sheehey

Steve Winchell
Chief Innovation Officer
Steve Winchell has served as our Chief Innovation Officer since September 2024. Prior to that he served as our Executive Vice President, Operations and R&D since June 2022 where he is responsible for further integrating our supply chain and R&D processes. Prior to joining Honest, Winchell worked for The Parent Company, where he served as the Executive Vice President of Product. In this role, Winchell played an integral role in taking the company public in 2021. During his time at The Parent Company, Winchell established and managed the end-to-end innovation, new product process and developed the company’s strategy to diversify its product portfolio. Prior to The Parent Company, Winchell spent over 14 years at The Clorox Company where he held multiple roles in managing Burt’s Bees, Cleaning Division’s R&D, International R&D and Home Care Product Development. He also led the process development department, new product development process, and was involved in multiple supply chain initiatives.

Jonathan Mayle
Senior Vice President, Customer Sales
Jonathan Mayle has served as our Senior Vice President, Customer Sales since December 2023. From August 2023 to December 2023, Mr. Mayle served as the Company’s Vice President, Customer Sales. Before joining us, from August 2012 to August 2023, Mr. Mayle held multiple sales roles at General Mills, working with industry leading retailers such as Walmart Inc., a multinational retail corporation, from October 2018 to October 2020, Target Corporation, a retail corporation, from August 2021 to August 2023 and Dollar General Corporation, a chain of hypermarkets, from November 2014 to February 2016. While at General Mills, he also served as head of sales for the internal start-up accelerator incubator, G-Works, the internal venture studio of Gold Metal Ventures from December 2020 to August 2021. Tom Sternweis
Senior Vice President of Enterprise Development and Strategy
Thomas Sternweis has served as our Senior Vice President of Enterprise Development and Strategy since March 2024. Prior to that he had served as Vice President of Enterprise Development and Strategy since May 2023. At Honest, Mr. Sternweis was also Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Business and Marketplace from March 2022 to May 2023, and Senior Director of Strategic Development from January 2018 to March 2022. Prior to joining us, from July 2014 to January 2018, Mr. Sternweis held roles in Corporate Development and Strategy at Mattel, Inc., (“Mattel”), a toy manufacturing and entertainment company, where he supported M&A, strategic partnerships, and Asia Pacific strategy. Prior to joining Mattel, from July 2011 to July 2014, Mr. Sternweis held roles at the Boston Consulting Group, a strategic management consulting firm, and at a private equity firm in New York. Dorria L. Ball
Chief People Officer
Dorria L. Ball is the Chief People Officer (CPO) of The Honest Company, serving in this role since January 2024. As CPO, she is responsible for leading the People & Workplace function of the company, charged with shepherding Honest’s purpose-driven culture. With over 20 years of U.S. and global human resources experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, Dorria is a highly sought-after executive coach and an experienced leader. This expertise, coupled with her confident and kind-hearted leadership style, brought her to Honest in her original role as interim Chief People Officer in late 2023. Before joining Honest, Dorria was the founder and president of Global Ballance Group, specializing in leadership and organizational development for C-Suite executives from Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that work, she held Vice President of Human Resources roles at Mondelez and Kraft Foods, where she served as the HR Business Leader for groups including U.S. Sales, Latin America, and Global Diversity. Throughout her career, Dorria has lent her talents to purpose-centered non-profit boards, including The Network of Executive Women and Dress for Success Worldwide. Dorria graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington and holds executive coaching certifications from Columbia University and the International Coach Federation.

BRENNA ISRAEL MAST
Senior Director, Corporate Communications
Brenna Israel Mast has served as our Senior Director of Corporate Communications since August 2024. In this role, she is responsible for a broad range of corporate communications activities centered around advancing the company’s reputation, including internal and external enterprise communication, crisis and issues management, media relations and executive visibility. Joining Honest’s communication’s team in 2015, Brenna has deep experience managing the company’s public relations efforts across corporate and brand.
Prior to joining Honest, Brenna oversaw global public relations at Murad (Unilever Prestige), where she was responsible for founder visibility and communication, media relations and influencer partnerships. Prior to Murad, Brenna held positions at various global public relations firms primarily focused on consumer products in the health, wellness and beauty industries. She holds a B.S in Marketing from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
